American Corner Erbil in collaboration with US Consulate Erbil is pleased to host a virtual seminar on “Promoting Tolerance Through Animation” as part of the Visiting American Professionals Program sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. The session will be presented by David Andrade.
The session will be in English with Arabic translation through ZOOM, a virtual platform.

Topic Description: This session will provide an introduction to creating stories, animation, and comics. Through this seminar, David will cover the basics of how movies are made—from storyboards to actual videos. He will also discuss how stories are made, by going over comics and writing, highlighting some local comic artists in the Middle East. Maybe it's about saving the world, maybe it's about tackling hard problems; superheroes give us a dream to hang on to. This seminar aims to inspire people to stop looking at each other’s problems, but instead working together to create something bigger than themselves.
Speaker Bio: David Andrade is an Emmy nominated animator and entrepreneur who has worked in television, movies, and games. His credits include Life of Pi, Sesame Street, Man in the High Castle, 300: Rise of an Empire, Transformers: War for Cybertron, and much more! In 2013 David co-founded a new animation studio: Theory Studios, the world's first virtual animation company with artists working around the globe. With 60 people in 7 countries working together, Theory is revolutionizing the way digital art is made.
