As part of the concluding events of the international conference on Education, Empowerment, and Entrepreneurship, the English Department at the College of Education, Salahaddin University, in collaboration with the American Corner Erbil, hosted an international workshop that brought together distinguished academics and language education experts. The event began with a welcome speech by the Assistant. Prof. Dr. Mazin A. Othman, Dean of the College, followed by remarks from Ms. Lesley, Director of the UKH Library, emphasising the value of ongoing collaboration. Dr. Dilovan Sayfuddin, Head of the English Department, also addressed attendees before introducing two featured sessions. Prof. Dr. Jaffer Shayholismali from Carleton University (Canada) presented “Beyond the Textbook: Multilingual Landscape in ELT,” highlighting how public signs in Hewlêr can enhance English instruction while promoting both English and Kurdish. Prof. Gulbahar Beckett from Iowa State University (USA) led a dynamic session on “Current Trends, Strategies, and Tools in Applied Linguistics and Language Education Research,” engaging participants in practical exercises to refine their research inquiries.
