Fragile settings develop a weak society and uneducated girls/young women are a major part of many developing societies. Educating girls is a key aspect in developing a strong society. How should girls be educated? What kind of education girls/young women need to deal with the conflict in society? Early or forced marriage, exploitation, violenve and discrimination are very common against girls/young women in conflict societies.

American Corner Erbil is arranging a seminar on how to equip girls/young women with the necessary skills, education and knowledge to be better informed and handle conflict in such circumstances. The seminar will be delivered by Ms Sazan Mandalawi.

Sazan is a UKH alumni, a peer educator, blogger and a PhD candidate. Her research focuses on peer education for girls in humanitarian settings.
