American Corner Erbil has arranged a seminar by Mr Levi Clancy on The Story of Jews in Erbil and Mesopotamia:
From the time of the Babylonian exile through to today, the Jewish community of Mesopotamia has had a clear presence on the land and history of this region. We will journey from an Assyrian official measuring the walls of Jerusalem almost 3,000 years ago to the Jewish queen of Erbil almost 2,000 years ago and onto the final demise of this ancient community in recent decades. Explore Jewish history and perspectives through the dual lenses of broader Mesopotamia and our beloved local Erbil.
